Leadership & Management Division History

In 1976 at a Denver conference luncheon meeting several people decided that there was a need for a division that focused on management and in 1977 the SLA Board granted full division status.

Through the years, the division name has evolved. We have also mentored and watched sections such as Knowledge Management and Competitive Intelligence grow into full divisions.

Currently our members represent a wide range of experience, from seasoned senior managers to new information professionals interested in leadership and management concepts.
